EU-funded projects TeNDER, PROCare4Life, and POSITIVE, together with the nursing faculty of the University of Camilo José Cela (UCJC)  organised an in-depth teaching and discussion session on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in care environments.

The workshop, conducted in Spanish, took place in Madrid on 23 March 2022. It was tailored for nursing and physiotherapy students, who will encounter an increasingly digitised work environment, a process accelerated in part by the COVID-19 pandemic.

As research and innovation in care settings become more common, it likewise becomes important to introduce students to the benefits, drawbacks, and the meaningful integration of ICT in healthcare.

TeNDER’s session was led by:

  • Fundación para la Investigación e Innovación Biosanitaria en Atención Primaria (FIIBAP): Laura Calderón Jiménez (Family and community nurse) and Rodrigo Medina García (Family and community doctor);
  • Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM): Javier Serrano (Engineer).

POSITIVE’s session was led by:

  • Servicio Madrileño de Salud (SERMAS): Nuria Alcolea (Family and community nurse // Nursing Director in Sector 3);
  • University Hospital of Getafe: Rodrigo Pérez Rodríguez (Engineer).

And finally, PROCare4Life’s session was led by:

  • Asociación Parkinson Madrid (APM): Jennifer Jiménez Ramos (Physiotherapist);
  • UPM: Alberto Belmonte Hernández (Engineer).

European Commission to showcase TeNDER on its Innovation Radar platform

TeNDER will soon join EU-funded innovations already showcased on the European Commission’s Innovation Radar platform, which spotlights promising projects.

Launched in 2018 under the framework of Horizon 2020, the goal is to “show citizens the many excellent technological and scientific advances being delivered by researchers and innovators around Europe.”[1]

We look forward to joining this initiative and congratulate all partners whose work has led us here.
